There is an option of going to school under the L permit. I did this for 2 years and upon the 2nd year renewal I was granted a B permit. No marriage required. Your partner just has to sign that he is taking on your expenses here/ providing health insurance and you need to give proof that you are enrolled in school plus if you take any exams it helps. You wont be able to work, but you can search in the meantime.

Or get pregnant (still no marriage required).
