Altstetten isn't necessarily a dump but frankly there are nicer places to live - also with that comes expense. If you like your connection to the highway and dislike open spaces, it's for you

But I also don't rate Seefeld and the Gold Coast. I mean, come on - it's not better but there is a snob value with it.

I lived in the Huried/Albisguetli area for a long time and that's quite nice in areas - plus it's very close to some nice natural areas and does not seem to be overly-developed (yet). Kreis 4, I think it is?
