This thread hasn't been added to in awhile, but it seems like the right place for my question, so hopefully someone notices. I was just wondering, does anyone know what the laws are in terms of having a cat and trying to get an apartment?

Allegedly, in Toronto, a landlord can choose not to give you a place if he/she knows you have a pet, but can't do anything about it if you move in, even if you've signed a contract that specifies no pets. Considering most Swiss rent their residences, I was thinking maybe there are similar protective measures here? I still haven't completely figured out the Swiss mind-set yet, though, so maybe it would be a ridiculous idea here.
