EU citizen, studying at language school for a year

Hi,

I am new to the forum but finding my way around. I have looked but can find no thread that seems to answer my questions? I am an EU (UK) citizen and am looking to come over to Switzerland for a year to study German..at a language school not at Uni.

I see that it says that for a stay over three months a visa is needed but then I am seeing on other threads that people are saying don't worry just do your three months as a tourist and then apply out in Switzerland and then some say no visa needed just register with your canton and that is all you need to do. I will be living with my partner out there, A swiss national in Zurich.

Qo I need a visa if I am to stay over the three months as a language school student?

Q:Can I just register upon arrival, within 8 days that I am studying so need no visa because registered?

Q:If I need a visa would it be best to get in UK beofre comingout or would I be better to get out, study, be a tourist for three months then apply out there?

Q: Accom, would not be tourist accom but an apartment does this changes things?

And I will be able to support myself financially.

Thanks, hope this makes sense and gets a reply as I am really a little confused! Dragoman the traveller
