| Last time I was home I hired a car with my irish driving licence. I got caught speeding by a camera. So the rental company sent the details to my irish address, which was forwarded to me in Switzerland. I have to pay a EUR 80 fine and I get 2 penalty points on my licence. Fair enough, I was speeding
What I was wondering is will the points on my irish licence affect my ability to get a swiss licence and increase my car insurance premium here in Switzerland? | |

No, but anyway for the points to be entered you need to send the license in don't you? In which case send it to the Swiss Authorities and ask for their version of a license. They will of course issue you with one and return the Irish license to the Irish authorities who can do what the hell they like with it...
