| If you hand in your Irish license for a Swiss one then as an Irish citizen the Gardai will very kindly hold your points for you, and add them when you request your Irish License back from your local motor tax office. | |

Crap

I was hoping by the time I got back to Ireland, the 2 years would have lapsed and I wouldnt have to worry about them. How thoughtful of the Garda Siochana
Just had another thought....if I pay the fine and give them the irish licence number....then wait a couple of months to exchange for a swiss licence, if the Swiss dont care about my irish penalty points...the points will already be on the irish one and should be gone by the time I get back? Or will they freeze the points from the time they get the irish licence from the Swiss authorities?
Cunning plot or ridiculously stupid idea?
