We just bought some huge wall prints (big framed posters) which have brightened the place up no end. There's a good selection really close to the Stadelhofen trainstation in Zürich (direct on the S9 from Zug). We didn't want to go down the road of painting walls. Seemed a bit racy for our landlord.
