| Re: International School in Rolle ?
I don't know anything about this particular school.
I do know a little about SABIS from talking to a teacher who used to work in this system. It features a very prescribed curriculum and very frequent testing at all levels. There are advantages and disadvantages to this kind of education and I guess it is up to parents to decide what they want for their children (if they can afford to choose.) The SABIS system would be very different for example to the International Baccalaureate PYP/MYP/DP system used in many international schools in Switzerland, so as a parent it would be worth researching teaching and learning in the different systems thoroughly. (Swimming pools etc. are a separate issue and fairly independent of curriculum.)
Also worth noting that some international schools are run by private companies while others are non-profits run by boards elected from parents. I'm not trying to say one is better than the other (not in this post, anyway -- I certainly have an opinion on the subject!) but again, it is worth informing yourself about the differences.
