| Some years back I was watching the release of Grand Theft Auto IV on the news, and they showed a very long line of men, interspersed with children queuing outside a Virgin Megastore in London. As soon as the doors opened, kids were getting pushed aside in the mad scramble to be the first to own the game.

Yeah, it's called extremist behavior. Some people go too far for things that make them feel good. Be it love, religion, sports, and video games. None of it is inherently more childish than anything else and there's nothing to be puzzled or dismissive about.
