Dealing with UK Car Insurance after Switzerland

Hi All,

has anyone had a positive experience trying to get a UK Insurance company to accept the certification of no claims discount from a Swiss Insurance company ?

We've recently returned to the UK after 3 years in Switzerland (and 3 years before that in Germany).

Now we find that unless our Swiss Insurer (Zurich) provides us with a certificate stating our NCD in years and not % that no UK insurer we have approached is willing to give a NCD entitlement which will mean we pay about GBP 500 (CHF 750) more for insurance.

I've tried approaching Zurich both directly and via our Swiss Broker, but they're unwilling to give the necessary documentation. Similarly our UK insurer will not accept the Swiss documents and won't approach Zurich on our behalf (not even Zurich UK).

Has anyone had similar experiences and found a way of resolving them ? Or have you come across a UK insurer who will accept the Swiss method of measuring No Claims entitlement.

Thanks
