The spring actually do reduce the noise, as it slow down the door, and it does not "hit" the wall quickly.
As for the "under the door" thing, yes, its not reducing the noise but it blocks the door open, so it actually never closes violently, never banging the door...
Anyway, with 10chf total, delivered quickly, what can be wrong?
