Swiss auction sites Ricardo/eBay

A thread in the "For Sale" section made me wonder.

Anyone else noticed the "ambitious" price expectations of many items for sale on the Swiss sections of ricardo and eBay? Not talking about the professional vendors, but rather the "only 5 years old, starting bids from 80% of the shop price" type of auctions.

Some other funny behaviour seems to include starting to bid immediately even with a week to go, thus inflating the price and interest in the article days before the auction end.

Dont quite know what it says about the pysche? Thoughts?
