We went to Saas-Fee (German speaking) last weekend and loved it. Small, beautiful village, great skiing (they had had 4 feet of snow the previous weekend) and fun apres and nightlife. Somehow wound up being out until 3 even after skiing all day, still have no idea how it happened.

Its about 3 hours (train to Visp then a bus) but its well worth it for a weekend.
