If you are paid to do a job and you are doing it well then hours shouldn't be an issue.
If you are paid by the hour then who is going to know that you can actually do 8 hours work in 30 mins of Fridays when you are not in the office  | |

Good question. It is all actually so-called "built-on-trust" environment in which employee is accountable for logging the working hours in on monthly basis. In total 42-43 hours per week is observed but not very rigorously though. One can finish in 30min at home office one's 8 hour standard office day, yet without major distraction and be more productive as well. Who will be able to tell you are at wrong?
