A good thing to do is start in Liestal for this parade then at 4am Monday morning (11th Feb) head into Basel Stadt around Markplatz or Munsterplatz to see the morganstreich. This is really nice as the whole city goes dark and then the lanterns come on and the parade begins with all of the traditional music. After head to one of the kellers for some fasnacht food and drink If you can manage more on Monday then the day parade is also supposed to be nice....although I didn't make it last year as I flaked at 2pm!!
