Re: Ski resort guide / review 07/08

Malbun, Liechtenstein http://www.tourismus.li/en/navpage-WinterLI.html

is often where I take people new to skiing, although there are 3 nice ski tours for those with more experience. I like it because it's small, friendly, quiet, even on weekends and beginners can ride chair lifts rather than spending all day on drag lifts. As it nestles in a cold bowl in the mountains it gets pretty good snow too.

Other stats; 5 lifts (2 easy drags suitable for quite small children and the rest is blue or red)
2 sledging runs
nice X-country (can't remember how many kms, but enough to make it worthwhile)
Approx. 1hr 20 from Zurich by car, public transport would be a train and bus, but no doubt they connect nicely.

and lots of winter walking or snow shoeing for the non skiers
