B permit ok to cross border to/from Germany?
My wife has a 5 year B permit (with about 4 1/2 years to go) and a UK passport. She has had to give her passport to the Indian embassy for a visa.

We want to go to Germany for a day trip on Saturday, by road, and would like to know if we're likely to encounter any problems using the B permit as obviously she won't have her passport.

Any experience of doing this?
