Re: iPhone in Switzerland - word of caution

Family matters have landed an iPhone over here.
I unblocked using a very popular app developed by a young italian who goes under the moniker of Zibri (www.ziphone.org), it even allowed me to update from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 in a most painless and uncomplicated manner.

Anyway - the word of caution is this:
when your iPhone is up and running, one of the first things you'll probably do is have a look at what all those icons do.
Most of them land you smack in the middle of the 'net, with absolutely NO SETUP to be initiated in order to access GPRS roaming.
Very sexy and VERY EXPENSIVE.

I would have thought that I would have had to go through hell in order to get my Orange and Diax/Sunrise accounts set up for GPRS, but instead - no - everything was there up and running at my fingertips !!
Cell carriers are bound to be making a bucketful of $$ from unwary iPhoners IMHO.

There ya' go. I love the thing, it's addictive, it's sleek and sexy, and with the tanking $$ it costs much less than my by HTC PDA/cell

Ciao

Paul
