Filing deadline in ZH is 31st March 2008. Many communes have an internet portal to request extension of deadline. That is usually automatically granted.

The communes do not mind granting extension. Spreads the workload for them.

The incentive for early filing is to get refund of the 35% withholding on interest, dividends, lottery, etc.
