Re: International School in Rolle ?

Hello again,

i looked up ISM, there is a SABIS ISM, but there is another ISM located close to Chatel St Denis, not related. This is the school that is looking to open up in Rolle, the LCIS. Go to Tribune de geneve and type in ROlle school.

My opinion new LCIS, well i have friend of mine who is a school inspector in East Midlands UK, when I have told her about the schools in this area that use the UK curriculum, she laughs, since the UK is trying to make substantive changes to it, in factsome schools now have permission to abandon it and develop their own for approval... And guess what ISM uses, yep the same program that is being tossed in the bin in the UK.

I also found some more about SABIS, it comes from a discussion in Massachusettes about whether or not to start a SABIS school.

Information about the SABIS track record has not shown the success that the applicant would have you believe.
History of legal problems with SABIS.
SABIS model ignores current research on learning and is contradictory to the tenets of the Massachusetts Education Reform Act of 1993.

Since we are here, we have lowered our expectations, a lot. We do at home activities and tell our kids not to take their school to seriously. I found life is far saner this way than expecting any changes from these archaic institutions.

Hope your experinces are better,
