Re: How do speeding fines work in Switzerland?

I have just received, in the UK, a speeding notice from the police in Lausanne, 35kmh over in a 120 zone - rushing in a hire car after a delayed flight, stupid! It does not request money, just lots of personal details. Looking at the earlier posts it looks like 35 over is a "serious" infringement, anyone any ideas what the consequences are when i return the details requested?
I think Mark's post (the second one from the top) pretty much sums up the proceedings. I doubt they'll request a court appearance but they'll fine you massively. If they feel like it, they might even try to get your license in the UK - Switzerland just recently signed an agreement with the EU concerning this. The other way round is also possible now: http://www.espace.ch/artikel_494869.html

Most likely you'll just get a fine - anything above 40 Fr. can be collected in the UK as well.
