Re: Children born in CH

Hi

Not because it specifically relevant to us, but because I was asked by a friend today and I genuinely didn't know the answer.

Would a child born in Switzerland to parents living there with a B permit (?) be given Swiss nationality or would they revert to the nationality of one of the parents? Also if the child did have Swiss nationality, how would their rights differ to that of their parents (generally)

Would appreciate any insights?
In our case our son got the same permit as his mother (C) and is dual nationality French/British.

There is zero chance of him getting Swiss nationality for at least 10 years (somebody will correct this I'm sure). I'm not sure why he'd need or want Swiss nationality though.
