best route I find is Basel, cross German side, go across into France at il Napoleon, carry on north to Thionville.

Head into Luxembourg and fuel up.

Carry on north into Belgium (very bad drivers alert) and at Namur head towards France (Dunquerque). Arrive at Calais a few € richer having saved on Péage...
