| HI a friend drove our car a couple of months ago and was done for 31 kms over in a 50 zone. They have returned to OZ after travelling around for awhile. We sent the form back with their address and they have just been notified of the offence all written in french..... They do not read french and would rather not put their name on the form. No fine was menitoned just a form to write name on and i guess send back. Will we have to wear the cost? what is the cost? What will happen with the process?

as they were driving your car, if they do not reply to the notice then you will hear more about it.
Why?
Because they will assume you are lying.
Best option is for them to write back and state that they were driving at the time. They may choose to not pay if they're not considering another visit to Switzerland. It'll be a big fine - high hundreds at least.
Do post back to let us know what happens. The police don't like being treated as fools - and if your chums don't answer the letter, you will be back in the firing line....
