I don't know if this shield is legal in the US, I wouldn't be surprised if it depends on the state. It is illegal in Switzerland and like the old hairspray on the license plate trick doesn't work with the majority of speed cameras, that use a red flash. And I'm sure that the Swiss police won't pat the back of somebody who tries to outsmart the system, just for the record.

You may think that speeding fines are predatory, but criminologic research has shown that they're among the few punishments that have a provable impact on people's behavior.
