OK thanks fo rthe pointers so far: i'm looking for wood'n'cosy'n'jazzy and or modern clean and smart cocktails without being too pretentious. I thinking more drinking than eating, and wine more than beer.
Pickwicks will be the last resort, and the cliched playlist of the rock band that is playing there on Saturday night it doesnt look too inviting...

I've only been here a month so i don't know much, but what i do know is that pickwicks is a sh*thole i'm afraid...
There's a couple of Jazzbars, i've found one called Sud on Rue Des Alps which is a tiny cellar bar... and one in the centre which i cant remember the name of, i'll get back to you on that one..
Depends on yr taste... Personally for bars i'd head to the oldtown, or rue de carouge maybe.. as a rule for bars in general stay south of the river and away from paquis i'd say | |
