Turnover is vanity, profit is sanity. Think about niche marketing, and try not to compete with the Biz cards n headed paper brigade...
You do have a number of advantages: small , flexible, low overheads, personal service, native English speaker. INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE.
I never cease to be amazed at the lack of flair in most company logos I see in this country. They are almost always two-colour designs with squares or rectangles as the main theme with the obligatory swiss cross worked in there somewhere. Take a look at some passing vans, and you'll understand what I mean.
If you have a fresh and colourful perspective, it shouldn't be difficult to impress clients here that are used to the bland. Have a search on web for some good marketing and sales approaches...

| Yep know all this, but I am jusy anticipating to get back onto the ladder here i 'may' have to reduce my prices at times, its not happened yet but its something I expect but then like Dave says maybe here in Switzerland things are different, but in the UK I was forever being asked to reduce my prices, on some jobs (bigger ones) I would have considered it on other i would tell them to take a hike. The problem I had in the UK was small self tought designers or print and repro houses offering design work for peanuts and undercutting me. If someone can use photoshop, Quark etc... they think they can design, usually the results spoke for themselves but it seemed the client was happy because they got the job done for a fraction of the price!! | |
