| By this, do you mean jailbreaking, then yes. Jailbreaking has become a very simple task and I'm sure it won't be long before it becomes simple again for the 3G. And you can always reset the phone if it goes wrong.

I'm not saying it doesn't work - yes, it's very easy and quick (I had an jail-broken iPhone myself) - but you lose your phone's warranty when you do it.
