In the larger lower level cities, the weather is similar to your home country so just bring warm jackets, gloves and shawls. If you want cheap (well for the Swiss) Asian food, go the markethall restaurants at Bubenbergplatz opposite the railway station. Anyone in Bern would know these if you cannot find the entrance; they are all located in a large hall.
