The version 1 iPhone was never officially/generally available in Switzerland. Some shops sold phones imported from the us.

Only swisscom sells the iPhone 3g unlocked - for 899 and 1199 chf (8gb/16gb)

More info in the faq. Availability is close to non-existent at the moment
