Maybe we should add the cost of these too.

As somebody who primarily uses OSS I resent paying for any applications, you could also call me tight I guess. Donating, fine, paying no.

Lockbox - free - stores passwords, it's pretty simple.

I've tried this and am surprised it got good reviews to be honest, I find it pretty pathetic for the reasons you mentioned. I don't really see the use of an IM client that doesn't run in the background either.
