For about 335 million English speakers "liberal" means center-left (US and Canada). I know that "Liberal" is often their name in German (Freisinnig); however, Swissinfo usually translates it into the "Radicals" from French. I would actually characterize the SP as Social Democrats (Left); CVP Christian Democrats (Center); FDP - Liberal / Radical Party (Center-Right); SVP Swiss People's Party (Nationalist-Right).
If I could vote I'd go with the FDP. That being the case, my wife isn't entirely in favor of me getting the red pass in the future

. She is a strong SP supporter and was involved in Juso. Luckily I've made her more skeptical of the party line and she's been voting more conservatively in the latest referendums. Believe it or not I'd be a Democrat in the US... However, I do not find any party ideal. The closest would actually be the CVP, but I cannot support a socially conservative party.
