For me, the abuse of Blocher's position as Justice minister is enough for me to realise that the SVP is party of "no" sayers who should be in permanent oposition. They really are a set of racist luddites. As I said just watch the Arena programme on Swiss tv to see what I mean or have look at their campaigns in referendums to see the mentality of these people. Really there negative attitude to the idea of trying to cut the appalling level of smoking in Switzerland and the idea of being able to eat in restaurant without having to endure smoking does not encourage me that thay have a clue.

Of the other parties I have less of an opinion though in Basel the SVP are the equivalent of the "Monster Raving looney" party and have very little representation
