| If anybody is interested in a nice Hike.
Yesterday I went up to Obermurgsee and even though a bit hard in places I did see families with quite small children walking up.
Parking is in the Murgtal (Junction 47 A3) above the Walensee its on the Zürich side of Flumserberg, you have to pay Sfr 8 for a days parking on the way up at a ticket machine on the left. I parked in P2, which is around 1200m there is P3 about 1Km further up, but the road didn’t suit my car.
It’s pathed all the way with a few small streams running across but not deep, a cobbled area was a bit slippery on the way down after Fridays rain. | |

Been to Murgsee about six weeks ago. Doing the straight up/back down is pretty hard, no flat parts to catch your breath. Far more scenic and less killer on the puppies (hiker slang for the footsies) is the Rundwanderung via Mürtschenalp (1 steep climb at the start, then flat, up, flat, up across the Murgseefurggel, down to Murgsee and then it's all downhill back to the car).
Park at P1, walk back the 50 or so meters to get up to that cascade. Map
here. Click bottom link (Wandergebietsansicht)!

| The path varies from grassland to wooded sections with Marmosets and waterfalls.<snip rest> | |

Hmmmm, marmosets in the Alps... Are you sure?
As far as I know I'm the only marmoset up there. And even though
we feep to communicate and have quite sharp teeth really, I don't think I'd like to be mistaken with an old world rodent who spends half a year inside a burrow nibbling dried weeds and whistles... I mean, really!
Them's called
marmots!

| The restaurant is a little expensive but as explained in the Menu they have to ship everything in by Helicopter. | |

Well, we had a SchniPo (Schnitzel fries/chips) for 23.50 and a Bratwurst Spuds (21.50), so let's say the prices are like in Zurich.

| This walk took 2 hours going up this 600m-height difference and I would recommend proper walking shoes because a twisted ankle is possible and coming down I don’t think you Sunday shoes would give much grip. | |

Especially if the path is wet, very slippery! Had to resort to trekking poles as even with hiking boots kept slipping on the cobble-like parts.
Very worthwhile hike!
