Yes, unfortunately Geneva is known for having a lack of condos and those available are pretty expensive. Avoid downtown condos and look for something outside Geneva. I would also suggest you to contact the University and ask them a way to reach students. Sometimes students rent their apartments for a short period of time, or they want to share apartements with another student.

Nocturnal, I've just started my job search, so it will take a while before finding something, but if I will be in Geneva of course we can meet for a drink
