A big hello to everyone on the forum. I just happened to stumble on this forum by accident the other day, and I wish I had known about it when I came over, about 2.5 years ago now.

I live in Lausanne with my fiance from the UK. I am working in IT for a fund management company based in Lausanne, and am really happy to be living here compared to my previous life in the UK.

I find Lausanne a nice, friendly town. Lots to do outdoors (my main hobbies are mountain biking and snowboarding) and generally much higher quality of life than what I saw in the UK.

I have seen several posts here saying baout how hard it can be to make Swiss friends, and I am glad it is not just me that finds that!! Both myself and the other half would love to meet people outside our jobs, even though we have good Swiss friends now from there, it is always nice to get away from work completely sometimes.

I haven't seen too many Lausanne based people on here (in my brief visits so far anyway) but hopefully there are a few of us and maybe we can arrange a meeting/drink sometime?
