I think visually following a puck on ice is sort of like acquiring a langauge: if you don't learn it at a young age, you'll never quite master the skill.

I took some friends to watch Lausanne play last year and they had no idea what was going on. Thankfully, my rural Canadian upbringing (which included watching Hockey Night in Canada on a small TV with fuzzy CBC reception) means I can spot a puck just about anywhere!
Haven't decided which games to go see yet. Thankfully, I still have a bit of time to decide...
