There is another way to learn languages than sitting in class with other foreigners (who commonly have different problems according to their mother language).
I found the approach from a school in Glattbrugg very special
and therefore was sceptical at the beginning, but my mate who visited the course was very satisfied.

The system works like this: You can choose to visit school during the following opening hours:
Tue/Thu 14:00-21:00
Mon/Wed 19:00-21:00 Fri 10:00-15:00 for as long as you like. For example 2 hours on Thursday from 19:00-21:00. During these hours a teacher is always present 
. Every student studies individually. You are being given a check list, that says what the essential learning is of a certain page in the book. You go on reading and doing the exercises 
, as soon as you finish a page you call the teacher. The teacher corrects the exercises and gives you feedback, and tests you asking you questions about what you've just learned. If you "pass" 
you go on in the book if not... 
.. well, the teacher will take her time to explain everything in detail and you repeat the exercises. From my mates experiences, the teacher (who is actually always the same person) is extremely good, especially about explaining things and having patience with a student. Also she is very passionate about her job as a teacher, you get to feel this as a student. For speaking students are regularly paired up, to do speaking exercises as needed. Also additional speaking courses are offered. NOW! Why I post all this, is because my mate has left Switzerland and will not need these classes anymore. I have bought 150hrs, of which some 120 are left. These have to be used unitl late this Year. So actually I am looking to sell these hours. Pros: - You will never go on in the book, leaving something not understood - You can learn at your own pace - You have no fixed weekly hours

Contras - You don't interact very much with other people - You have to have a little bit of self discipline To anybody who is interested: Please contact me, to arrange some test classes for you. You have to check first if that kind of studying does help you. I can imagine there are people who prefer traditional classes... from a social point of view... although to learn quickly and efficiently I can't imagine anything better than this school system.
