Re: How can I study in Switzerland?

Hello Guhn,

The problem is, there are some other millions young people in many countries, that would also like to do the same.

The swiss government will not help you to come and study, nor financially nor administratively.

This is something you have to obtain, maybe in your country there are some organisations that can award you with an scolarship or an students loan ?

That is only the financial part.

Then you have to apply to a swiss university or high school and be accepted by them.

This could be easy or very difficult, depending on your studies background and results.

The thing goes usually like this.

1. You know what you want to study and where there is a program that meet your goals.

2. You apply and if you fulfill the requirements you get accepted by the school, usually the scholl would ask for a preliminary language or academic test before confirming the acceptance, a test that is to be held locally.0

3. You request a visa to come here for the test. You'd have to show the embassy of Switzerland in Mexico that you have the financial means to afford your trip and that you are ready to go back if the university finally doesn't accept you.

4. You come here and pass the tests. The university deliver you an acceptance document.

5. With that document you request an student permit of residence. The authorities will then request you to prove you can finance your stay and studies, not necesarily linked with a local future job.
It is a difficult process and many have to go throught it.

Sometimes is an egg-chicken thing, you would not get an scolarship before you have the university acceptance and viceversa.

You have to be able to go thorugh all this process in French or German.

Good Luck.
