I found it to be something of an acquired taste. A friend gave me the first series on DVD, and I sat there thinking "WTF?" for most of the first three episodes.

And then, gradually, I got hooked. There's something slightly odd and dreamlike about it, that starts digging into your psyche like a persistent mosquito with a platinum proboscis.

Very weird, but very entertaining - eventually.
