My son was born here but just as he was starting to learn Swiss German in Kindergarten we went to Belgium for 1 1/2 years. Now we have been back for almost 2 years but now in school everybody speaks standard German and since he is a native (standard) German speaker the kids think it´s cool to speak standard with him all the time.

Of course he understands dialect but does not want to speak it. I on the other hand want to learn it now. I´ll start a course at Migros Klubschule in October. I hate it when the Swiss are being friendly and talk Hochdeutsch with me.
