| Clearing old wood out of a barn last week I was approached at speed by 4 very large black ones (bigger than any I've ever seen). My Swiss girlfriend is convinced they were black widows (no matter what I said she wouldn't believe contrary) but they ran far too fast for me to catch and kill. Is that normal here? | |

My skin is crawling and my heart is racing on this topic but I just have to know... how big is the biggest... Ive seen huntsmans the size of a plate and that is just plain wrong - if there is anything bigger then say 5 cm diameter Id like to prepare myself... ie down in the cellar am I going to turn around and see some furry spider staring at me and let out a scream louder then any Swiss person has ever heard!!!!
