Has anyone recently flown the Zurich to JFK route using American Airlines?
I've just booked a multi-stop flight to the US where both parts of the transatlantic leg are ZRH to JFK. The prices were comparable to my previous plan to fly Virgin from London, but I liked the hassle-free factor of travelling direct from Switzerland.
However now that I peruse a few flight forums and more importantly the Skytrax website, I can see that AA are not the best regarded airline. In addition their entertainment system in economy seems to hark back to the 80's (overhead monitors showing a single film) and the cabin crew are described as rude and uninterested. I've flown AA within the US before and sure enough the staff wore shabby, worn out uniforms and spent most of their time sitting in the galley glowering at passengers.

You are absolutely right. service on AA is BAD. I have flown on all US carriers from ZRH to the US and must say that UA is by far better. Last time I flew AA in Business class, the flight attended was SO LARGE she couldn't walk through the aisle.
