| I don't know if this is solved yet, but it sounds to me like a directory permissions issue.
Try setting global write permissions on the relevant folders.
The Unix command would be something like this:
chmod -R 0777 ~englishforum.ch/customavatars | |

Hmmm. First post and it's a suggestion to set world read/write/execute on an ef directory.
Nice.
Don't do it - vB set the permissions to the correct ones during the install. I just checked mine and they ain't 777
