Actually a private lesson would be less intensive than a group lesson would be. In a group you're pressured to "keep up" where as in a private lesson the ski instructor can immediately point out problems to her quickly bringing her skills up to a higher level and she wont feel as if she's falling behind. If she's serious about learning that second kid or two might just get in the way and/or even become an embarrassment when mistakes are made.
