I don't disagree that smaller groups are better but I was quite fortunate usually that about half the people would not show up by week 2 so the group size was only 4 or so. Plus they did a good job of breaking the groups to relatively same skills. I wasn't at the Absolute Beginner level and it helped me find a group of similary skilled expats to ski with prior to the EF existing.

This would not apply to Abs Beginner course though (as athletic skill levels will vary significantly).
