I snowboard and I have always worn a helmet. when I started snowboarding, I used to fall quite a bit... so i ended up wearing knee pads, wrist protectors and a bottom protector too! even though I rarely fall now, I still wear the helmet. I did have a few falls with a direct smack to the head and I dread to think what would have happened if I wasn't wearing a helmet.

I think nowadays, people are far too fashion concious to even consider wearing a helmet, or perhaps they think that they are so good on the slopes, that they will never fall??

Either way, let this be a lesson to us, if even a very tragic one.
