I snowboard with a helmet, but never used to ski with a helmet. In my experience falls on the snowboard are much more likely to result in head impacts. There have been a couple impacts I've been very glad I had the helmet on. If I go back to skis, I will wear a helmet as well.

In my opinion, snowboarding without a helmet introduces an unacceptable risk of serious injury or death.
