Just got back from Lian Hua at Berninaplatz. There is another branch near Bhf Wiedikon. In fact, they're connected by the No. 14 Tram.

| Hi I wish to know more about this shop, please- More info will be really appreciated. =) | |

My GF thinks
Aggarwal's Mirch Masala AG
Kernstrasse 27
8004 Zürich
is cheaper for rice, even with the 15% discount. Today was CHF 12.00 for 5kg Angel Thai jasmine rice. But she's not been here since the end of September 2008, so that might not be true any more.
Lian Hui would hold it's own with a few shop in London's China town. Loads of different types of noodles, and bamboo shoots canned in different ways. Today we picked up the "normal" sort, vacuum packed. Also canned fruits and vegetables. Different brands of soy sauce, vinegar, chilli sauce, etc.

| Another thing is Lian Hua has discounts on every saturday. Havent been there yet, but have heard LOADS about it. =) | |

It's true. I have today's receipt to prove it. There is a sign on the door stating there is a 15% discount every Saturday.
I didn't spot the opening hours, but it is open at least until 6pm on Saturday. The other branch near Bahnhof Wiedikon is open until 19:00 on Saturday.
If you're cost conscious, I'd suggest splitting your shop between Aggarwal and Lian Hui. Availability of fresh produce varies from time to time, but there is overlap between the two shops.
