| Given that the deadline for filing the tax return or for extending the deadline is approaching (March 31), I thought this great thread deserves all the boosts it can get.

You just have to fill in some numbers from your tax form and choose how long you want the extension to be. | |

If like me, you are trying to do your tax return last minute and submit it tomorrow (which isnt going to happen now because I cant find my health insurance stuff in the backlog of post to be "filed"), then this post by Idgie is super useful.
You just need 2 numbers from the tax form you got in the post (there's a diagram to show you which ones) and then you can choose to extend your deadline until Sept 30 or Nov 30. You can print out the confirmation to send in with your form to prove that you did extend the deadline.
